1.       Did any publicity from the Department about the draft Veterinary Practice Regulation 2006 under the Veterinary Practice Act 2003 (NSW) reach you directly or via any professional or horse organisation? Yes/No How did you become aware?________________________

 

2.       Did you know this proposed legislation allows equine dentists to file and clean teeth but at the same time bans equine dentists from work such as:

          a.       Removing caps, tooth fragments and small teeth? Yes/No

          b.       Removing feed from pockets in the gums? Yes/No

          c.       Cutting abnormally long teeth? Yes/No

          d.       Remove grass seeds or other foreign bodies from gingival pockets? Yes/No

          e.       Diagnosing any oral disease? Yes/No

          f.        Treating a laceration in the cheek? Yes/No

          g.       Removing teeth in collaboration with a veterinary surgeon? Yes/No

 

3.       Do you think that preventing trained equine dentists from treating your horse is anti-competitive? Yes/No

 

4.       If qualified equine dentists are no longer allowed to operate the way they are now, do you think the oral health of your horses could be negatively affected as a result? Yes/No
